Started in late
89, “Bird Brains” fused influences such as; “Filthy Christians”,
“Napalm Death”, “‘Sore Throat”, “Carcass”, “Impetigo”, “Agathocles”,
“LoonyArseholeLibyak”, “Sham 69”, “Old Lady Drivers” “Extreme
Noise Terror” and many more etc……”Bird Brains” line-up started with 4
young boys with Blurp (Shawal) on Guitars &
All Voice, ToothAche (Isham) on Drums, Rotten Sinile (Isa) on Bass/Backing
Vocals & Boh (Burhan) on All Guitars & Backing Vocals.
With the same line-up, ‘Peanut Butter Jelly Sandwich’ demo was recorded, produced and released in 1991at 800 studio (Bendemeer) with a fuck up 24 tracks recording. “Bird Brains” was later featured in ‘MIS (Made in Singapore) Volume 1’ and a track entitled ‘Genital Mutilations’ was recorded and released.
After the ‘MIS’ recording, bassist Rotten Sinile (Isa) left the band and not long after that “Bird Brains” was disbanded due to personal commitments and fucking National Service. Soon after that, we went our separate ways.
After about 10 years till September 2001, we bump into each other and started talking about the good old days and became more enthusiastic than ever about reforming. Soon after, “Bird Brains” was reformed with the same line-up except for the Bass player which left the three stooges long time ago.
Now, with Blurp (Shawal) on Bass & All Vocals, “Bird Brains” was reformed with the help and support of close friends, especially from Amirul (Memeng), Fahmy and Zainal from “Demisor” which did a big help to the band and without them, this album wouldn’t be made possible.
After forming up, we recorded the first track after 10 years of absence which was called ‘Intensify’ in December 2001. Shortly after that, we played at several gigs locally and in Malaysia. ‘Peanut Butter Jelly Sandwich’ was finally re-recorded and produced with 4 new tracks including intensify.
The sound and arrangement is slightly different from the demo, with the ‘MIS’ track ‘Genital Mutilations’ re-mixed and featured, finally “Bird Brains” has waken up since the long deep sleep!!
